Atchoum, a Persian cat from overseas, was born with hypertrichosis. Its fur is always longer and thicker than that of other cats. The fine, soft fur on its face even stands up straight, covering its nose and only revealing its big, round eyes. It looks like an adorable owl. Its unique appearance has unexpectedly become an internet sensation, attracting more than 480,000 followers.
Hatchou has a head of flowing long hair after developing hypertrichosis.
Harjou, who is about 7 years old, was originally an ordinary cat. When he was a kitten, he was given as a gift to a veterinarian in Quebec. At the time, his current owner, Nathalie, was working as a pet groomer at the hospital. She fell in love with him at first sight and adopted Harjou by chance.
Not long after, Nasari noticed that Hatchou's fur was unusually thick, and even its paws were growing big and fast. When she took it to the doctor, she discovered that the cat was suffering from a rare disease called "hypertrichosis".
The hormones in Hatchou's body cause its fur to grow thick and its claws to become abnormal. Nasari had no choice but to take it to have its claws removed to ensure the cat's safety. Fortunately, its physical functions were not seriously affected, but its fur would continue to grow, sometimes covering its nose and making it look like an owl.
Nasari laughed and said that Hatchou is a curious baby who likes to observe ice makers. Whenever she hears the machine preparing to make ice, she will go to watch it. She is very cute.
