If a healthy cat accidentally becomes a stray, it might still have a chance to survive, at least it will be able to find food and fight back when faced with threats, although it is still difficult. But if a disabled stray cat lives alone outside, wouldn't it be even more difficult?

This problem could be considered both difficult and easy for Bubby. Bubby is a disabled stray orange cat. Years ago, due to an illness, Bubby's owner not only decided to give up on him, but he also lost a front leg and a piece of his tail. From then on, a disabled stray cat with only three legs appeared.

A disabled stray cat walked into a family's home

One evening nine years ago, Bubby walked into the kitchen of a house. The owner of the house was a retired old man named Boyd. Every day, the old man would prepare a meal for the stray cats in the neighborhood at his door. On this day, after preparing the meal, the old man did not wait for the usual stray cat, but instead waited for an orange cat.

After the orange cat came over, it wolfed down all the food the old man had prepared. The old man knew that life was hard for stray cats, especially since this was a disabled stray cat. From then on, the old man would prepare an extra portion of food for it and always keep the door of his house open for it.

Gradually, the cat and the old man became familiar with each other.

It also frequently came to the old man's house to play with Seson, an indigenous resident. However, Seson soon passed away from illness. The old man thought that without a playmate, the orange cat might not come anymore. But every day after that, the orange cat still came, and stayed even longer than before.

Successfully adopted an orange cat

The name Bubby was given by the old man, and that's how the stray orange cat was adopted by him. They probably needed each other; the old man needed companionship, and the cat needed love and food.

Afterwards, the old man's daughter moved to a faraway place, leaving only the cat and the old man at home. Their relationship became even closer, and the cat often slept with its head on the old man's lap. Every morning, Bubby was the old man's motivation to get up. This continued until 2017, when the old man passed away.

Bubby never appeared again after that. The old man's daughter was worried that Bubby would suffer, so she tried everything she could to find it. The food that was originally placed in front of the old man's house was never touched. For the next two years, Bubby seemed to have disappeared, and no one saw it.

The cat left after its owner left.

Two years later, Ray, the old man's neighbor, saw Bubby again. Bubby looked much older and was much weaker. Ray wanted to take Bubby to an adoption center, but after two months of trying, he still couldn't catch it. Now, new residents had moved into the old man's neighborhood, and they were terrified of cats.

Ray still begged them to let Bubby into the house if she came, and then to call her. After some coaxing and cajoling, they finally managed to put Bubby in a cage and take her to a nearby shelter. When she arrived at the shelter, Bubby was terrified and buried her face in the blanket.

Dehydrated, weak, and fearful, Bubby was in extremely poor health. If he had arrived any later, he probably wouldn't have made it through the winter.

The arrival of a new owner

Sarah is a volunteer at the shelter. She fell in love with Bubby the first time she saw him. As a shelter worker, she sees millions of cats every year, but none of them have ever made her feel this way. Once Bubby was almost fully recovered, Sarah took him home.

Later, the old woman's daughter learned about Bubby's situation through the shelter's online forum and would often bring gifts to visit it at Sarah's home. Bubby got along very well with the other pets in the house, but this happy time did not last long. A year later, Bubby passed away from cancer.

Fortunately, in the final moments of its life, it was still loved by so many people.
