For stray dogs, the worst thing is getting sick. Once they fall ill and can't heal on their own, it's basically a death sentence. If they don't encounter a kind person to rescue them, death is only a matter of time. If you encounter such a dog, try your best to help it if you can; you might be able to save a life! Today's story is about a stray dog. It happened in Shijiazhuang, Hebei. One evening, a volunteer was on his way home when he suddenly noticed a dog lying on the road. He thought it had been in a car accident and was unable to move.

However, when the volunteers approached, they discovered the situation was more complex. The dog was a German Shepherd, its face covered in wounds, clearly suffering from a severe skin condition! Because the dog was on a main road with cars passing by, a sanitation worker helped them move it to the roadside. The dog was covered in blood, and although it was very wary and wouldn't let anyone touch it, it was too weak to resist. It lay on the ground, panting heavily, and even tried to drink its own blood. A dog like that, lying there overnight, would likely not survive.

The volunteers wanted to try one last time and took the dog to the hospital to see if it could be saved. Upon arrival, due to limited resources, the hospital could only preliminarily diagnose it as malnourished and weak; the veterinarian could only treat its wounds with antiseptic. Besides the injuries on its face, the dog also had wounds on its limbs. It was hard to imagine what it had gone through to become like this. A dog like this must have an owner; what had that owner done to it? After the initial treatment, the volunteers tried to feed the dog, but it had no appetite.

It endured the night like this, and the next day the vet took its temperature; it still had a high fever and was given an emergency injection to reduce it. Only after the fever subsided did it manage to drink a few sips of water. To avoid delaying treatment, the volunteers then took the dog to a city veterinary hospital for tests. After a professional examination, it was determined that its weakened immune system was likely caused by mange mites and lupus. Furthermore, its eyeballs had become infected and atrophied, causing it to lose its sight, and there was a large colony of bacteria on its back. The vet frankly admitted that if it continued like this, it would have virtually no chance of survival.

After discussing the situation, the veterinarian began treating the dog. First, its fur needed to be shaved off, as its mouth was almost completely ulcerated! The veterinarian said it was remarkable that it had managed to hold on this long; it was very resilient. During the treatment, a foul-smelling yellow liquid continued to ooze from the dog's body. However, the staff were very responsible and attentive, patiently treating its wounds. The dog seemed to know that everyone was trying to save it, as it didn't bark once throughout the entire process. Perhaps it had become numb from the pain? The veterinarians treated the dog for about three hours before its condition finally improved somewhat!

Although it received treatment, the vet couldn't guarantee its survival. Now it depends on its own willpower and fate! We want to thank all the kind people and veterinarians who helped the dog. We hope it can be strong and pull through; it must get better! Everyone is looking forward to seeing it healthy again! As the saying goes, good and evil are rewarded accordingly; those who abuse dogs will eventually face retribution! It's not that retribution won't come, it's just that the time hasn't arrived yet!
