One winter, rescuers received a call saying that a yellow stray dog was shivering next to a garbage dump.
Rescuers quickly arrived at the scene. Next to the garbage heap, a yellow dog was sitting in front of a tattered cardboard box. When it saw people coming, it timidly tucked its tail between its legs and ran away.
However, it didn't run far, but stood not far from the garbage heap. It watched the rescuers warily, not daring to take a step forward.
But when someone tried to move the tattered cardboard box, the dog, which had just been running away with its ears tucked in, suddenly let out a piercing, angry bark. What was it so angry about? Was it the box? What was inside that made it so concerned?
When the rescuers curiously opened the box, they were all stunned by what they saw: a small dog that had been dead for some time, its body already stiff. The rescuers silently put the dog's body down and retreated back into their vehicle. The stray yellow dog immediately rushed over, ran to the cardboard box, sniffed the dog inside, and then remained by the box.
The next day, the rescue team carried out the rescue operation as planned. People hid in their cars, observing the yellow dog that needed help. It remained by the cardboard box, and when hungry, it would run to the garbage heap to eat a few bites, its eyes always fixed on the tattered cardboard box in the distance. After eating, it would run back to the box to guard it. Everyone present was deeply moved. A dog that could have been searching for food and shelter from the cold had given up everything for its puppies, enduring hunger and hardship—what a magnificent maternal love!
Rescuers lured the mother dog as planned, placing the puppies' bodies in a cage, and the mother dog crawled into the cage with them.
The mother dog was taken to the vet for a full checkup. Initially timid and fearful of her surroundings and the unfamiliar surroundings, she gradually relaxed under the vet's care. The vet said the dog was a year old and in good health; the puppy was likely her firstborn, and her fierce behavior stemmed from her desire to protect her offspring and prevent her from leaving the garbage heap.
Next, the staff examined the puppy and discovered that its stomach was full of plastic bags, which were the main cause of its death. The veterinarian wrapped the puppy in a cloth, and the mother dog went over to sniff her child, whimpering softly, as if saying goodbye or crying.
When the staff took away the box containing the puppy's body, the mother dog did not stop them, but kept looking in the direction the staff left.
This scene moved many people, and they couldn't help but marvel at the greatness of maternal love.
In fact, animals, like humans, have feelings. They also experience joy, anger, sorrow, and happiness, and understand the joys and sorrows of life. They are not as lowly and despicable as humans imagine. They are often more innocent, more grateful, and more persistent than some humans.
