Cats sometimes whimper because they feel comfortable, which is normal. However, if your cat also has symptoms like sneezing or watery eyes, it may have an upper respiratory infection. Additionally, cats may whimper when they are thirsty or hungry; in these cases, you can offer them water or food.
Reasons for a cat's whining
Normally, cats will sometimes whimper, for example, when their owner pets them and they feel comfortable. If they only whimper without any other symptoms, it doesn't necessarily mean there's a problem with the cat.
If a cat has other symptoms besides nasal whimpering, such as sneezing, coughing, or watery eyes, it may be sick, with an upper respiratory infection being the most likely cause.
Additionally, when a cat is hungry or thirsty, it may whine or whimper. In this case, you can give it more water or food and observe whether it continues to whine.
