The Malinois is brave and decisive. Its excellent obedience and stunning appearance make it a popular choice for police dogs, and it also makes many people want to own a fine Malinois.
Three years ago, I rescued a six-month-old Malinois puppy near a trash can on Jinxiu Road. It had more than 200 wounds all over its body and necrotizing meningitis. Today, the little Malinois is a carefree puppy who eats and drinks silly every day.
However, at the same time and in the same place, another Malinois stood motionless in one position with its swollen hind legs. It was tied to a tree nearby with a rope, and the midday sun had dried the little Malinois's tongue, which was hanging out.
The volunteers carried the Belgian Malinois into the car and immediately gave it water. It drank two 500ml bottles of mineral water before stopping.
How could anyone be so heartless? What did it do wrong to be injured and then chained to a tree to be exposed to the scorching sun? He treats an innocent dog like this today; doesn't he fear suffering the same fate in the future?
Upon examination, it was found to be an 8-year-old dog that could not stand on its hind legs, had multiple wounds, was coughing, had a fever, and had diarrhea. However, the most serious problem was its liver. It needed to undergo liver-protecting treatment and lower its white blood cell count before the dog could have hind limb surgery.
The rescued Belgian Malinois has a big smile on its face every day. We named it "Sunshine" in the hope that it will have a bright future, where it goes will be filled with sunshine, and where it meets kind people!
