Last year on an island in Italy, a passerby discovered a strange-looking stray dog. Its head appeared swollen, and people initially thought it had been stung by a bee. However, upon closer inspection, they found that its head was almost the size of a basketball, a clearly unusual sight, so they called an animal rescue center.
The staff took it back to the hospital, where an examination revealed a nylon rope tightly tied around its neck! People judged that the rope must have been there when the dog was very young. Later, it became a stray dog and no one paid attention to it. As it grew bigger, the rope became tighter and tighter, eventually embedding itself in its flesh!
Although the dog looked to be in great pain, it still smiled broadly as the rescuers approached, perhaps knowing it was finally going to be saved! After discussion and research by the doctors, it was decided to perform surgery to remove the rope, but the removal process was fraught with difficulties because its throat had been damaged, and it needed to be very careful to prevent infection during the recovery process.
After the surgery, a rescuer was assigned to care for it. The dog had been a stray for too long and was still not used to human contact; it was timid, afraid, and reluctant to go outside. However, as time went on, its condition improved, and its psychological trauma slowly healed!
After more than half a year, the dog has almost fully recovered! It now enjoys going out to bask in the sun every day, and we can see the long-lost happy smile on its face! Next, we'll find it a good owner. We hope it will soon meet the right person and have a warm and loving home!
