The disabled golden retriever was sold to dog dealers by its owner. Even after being rescued, it still looked very sad, as the experience had been a huge blow to it!

If you are hurt by someone close to you, it's often more heartbreaking than being hurt by a stranger! This is why the pain is often more intense after being hurt by family, friends, or lovers! This isn't just true for humans; it applies to animals as well. For example, our pet dogs, if hurt by a stranger, might recover in a few days, but if hurt by their owner, the trauma often stays with them for life! Today's story is about a Golden Retriever. A domestic rescue organization once intercepted a dog-trafficking truck carrying many dogs.

The cages were crammed full of dogs. Some barked frantically at the volunteers, while others cowered in fear in corners. According to the dog dealers, these dogs were all taken from others—some were strays on the street, others were sold by their owners. If they hadn't been rescued, they would have been sent to the dog meat market and ended up as food. Among the many dogs, a golden retriever caught the volunteers' attention; its eyes seemed lifeless, and its face always wore a sad expression.

Most importantly, it was missing a front leg, making it a disabled dog. The dog dealer was also very impressed with this Golden Retriever, saying that its owner had personally sold it for a considerable sum! This explains why the Golden Retriever was so heartbroken; how could it not be saddened to be personally taken to its "execution ground" by its owner? Was it reflecting on what it had done wrong, angered its owner, and thus abandoned it? However, in our opinion, the owner most likely abandoned it because of its disability!

No one knows how the Golden Retriever got injured, but the fact that its owner abandoned it after losing a leg shows he didn't truly love dogs. When we like someone or an animal, it's usually a connection on a deeper level, not just based on appearance. It will always be the same Golden Retriever, and its missing leg won't change it. In the early days after being rescued, the Golden Retriever was still depressed at the shelter, not interacting or playing with other dogs or contacting the volunteers. It seems the owner's abandonment had a profound and lasting impact on it.

However, the volunteers were very patient, constantly comforting the Golden Retriever. With everyone's joint efforts, the innocent dog finally took its first step. Although it always walked with a limp, its smile gradually returned. Because it was missing a leg, it received more attention, so it was actually pampered despite its disability! To help it walk, the animal shelter decided to buy it a prosthetic leg. However, due to insufficient funds, they could only provide it with a simple prosthetic leg, enough to at least maintain its balance and prevent frequent falls.

Regarding the Golden Retriever's past experience, we should actually "thank" that owner for letting go. Without your abandonment, how could the Golden Retriever have found a new and happy life? Not long after, the Golden Retriever was successfully adopted by a kind-hearted person. Seeing it running happily on the grass, it's stepping into the next stage of its life! A dog will always be a dog, but people sometimes aren't. Selling your pet to the slaughterhouse—doesn't your conscience hurt? Thank you to the volunteers who brought warmth to the Golden Retriever; may good people live long and prosper!
