According to a report by Fox News on January 12, a British family lost their pet cat Millie at a highway rest area while traveling last June. Although they searched for nine hours, they were unable to find her and had to leave.

Surprisingly, seven months later the family received news that their cat had been found, and it had been living near the service area. Station staff said they had seen a cat matching Millie's description several times, but no one had been able to get close to it. Until recently, a station manager lured the cat with food, and animal shelter staff recognized it as Millie.

It is reported that after Millie went missing, her owners Ore and Pauline returned several times, bringing Millie's favorite food and items that smelled like them, but they were unable to find Millie. Ore said he was very unaccustomed to losing Millie, as his pet, with whom he had spent every day, suddenly left. Pauline also said, "After it disappeared, we all thought we would never see it again because it was very wild."

Millie is now back home and remembers her favorite spot. "I was a little worried she might bite, but she acted normally when she saw us. It's incredible that she survived on the M5!" Ore said.
