February 19th, Rain Water. After Rain Water, all things come back to life, but several days of rain and snow have brought no sign of spring, and it has become even colder.
To ensure the stray cats have food to survive, cat lover Viggers feeds them in her neighborhood late at night. She walks in the snow, gently calling out to each cat she knows, hoping they can withstand the cold night and live to wait for spring to arrive.
Suddenly, she noticed a cat she had never seen before meowing and limping toward her. It must have been starving to have the courage to approach a stranger.
Viggers quickly offered it cat food, but it wouldn't eat. Instead, it raised its front paws towards her. Only then did she realize that it was injured and had come for help. What a clever cat that knows how to save itself!
Its front leg was covered in blood, with bone visible from the wound. Viggers immediately sought help in various groups, hoping to get assistance from everyone. However, because it was late at night, no one responded to the requests in several groups.
Finally, Dieyi from the Shanzhiyuan Stray Dog Shelter in Hefei saw the news, and the exposed wounds made her heart ache. She immediately contacted a pet hospital.
Then Viggers caught the cat and took it straight to the hospital. The cat was very cooperative and seemed to know that it was being rescued, and quickly went into the cage.
When they arrived at the hospital, the wound became clear under the lights, revealing just how serious it was. The skin of the entire forelimb was missing, exposing the bloody flesh and pale bone—a truly shocking sight!
Moreover, the wound has been there for more than a day or two. Whether it was caused by someone or by accident, no one knows how it got injured. We can only hope that it can pull through this ordeal!
Because it was nighttime, we could only settle him down for now and wait for the hospital director to come and give us a treatment plan in two days, but there was a high probability that the forelimb could not be saved.
Then everyone donated 30 or 50 to cover its medical expenses. Viggers also donated their own. The Source of Goodness community is like a warm home and a support for the furry children.
The next day, the head of the hospital sent a message saying the poor cat had to have its limbs amputated because too much skin was missing and it was already showing signs of necrosis. It was beyond saving; another three-legged cat...
Fortunately, the surgery went smoothly, and they even managed to snatch an egg. Once it recovers, the base will be its home!
Although it has some respiratory problems after the surgery, it does not prevent it from eating and drinking. The respiratory problems are being treated at the same time. We hope it can be discharged from the hospital soon and return to its family!
Now it needs all kinds of canned cat food and nutritional supplements. It eats well and gets fat. I hope all the aunties can take care of it virtually so that it can recover soon!
