On February 10th, while everyone was joyfully celebrating the New Year, a kind person found this poor white dog in a trash can near Huijia Shopping Mall.
It was about four or five months old, lying on the ground motionless and listless. Kind people finally contacted the Karamay Stray Dog Rescue Center through various channels.
After communication, the rescue station decided to rescue the dog!
With the help of volunteers, after making many phone calls, they finally found a pet hospital willing to take the dog and immediately sent it there.
After various examinations, it was found that the dog had been hit by a car. There was bruising on the skin of its tail, a comminuted fracture of its hind leg, and small air bubbles in its lungs. Due to concerns about internal bleeding, it needed to be observed for two days before surgery could be performed.
Moreover, the vet said it had been hit by the car for at least two days. Perhaps they didn't want to spend money on treatment and just let it die on its own. On this day of family reunion, it was left alone to await death. How desperate it must have been...
The dog was very affectionate, but it wasn't eating much, probably because of the pain. It was Chinese New Year and couldn't be hospitalized, so we had to pick it up and drop it off every day so it could get treatment in time.
The dog was given anti-inflammatory and hemostatic injections for three days during the observation period.
Rescuing a dog that had been in a car accident was undoubtedly adding insult to injury for the shelter, but they couldn't give up. So on February 11, the shelter had no choice but to raise money for the dog's surgery by appealing to kind-hearted people in their group chat.
On February 15th, the dog was finally able to have surgery, but the procedure was very complicated. The dog's leg bone was badly injured, and all the bones were shattered.
Fortunately, thanks to the doctor's efforts and superb medical skills, the surgery was successfully completed. However, another surgery will be needed three months later to remove all the steel nails fixing the leg bone.
After a week in the hospital following the surgery, it received meticulous care from doctors and volunteers, undergoing 20 minutes of rehabilitation therapy every day, all in the hope that it would recover soon and regain its freedom.
After the stitches were removed, the dog was taken back to the shelter for care. Everyone named it Xiaobai. It can now stand up and walk on its own, but it is still not very stable and needs to recover slowly.
However, due to its young age, it's at a mischievous stage, and Xiaobai has already started destroying things around the house. Hopefully, it will recover soon and be able to enjoy the happy childhood of a normal dog.
I hope everyone can raise it virtually, so that it can thrive in more love!
