An elderly man living alone in South Korea has a cute dog named Dingdong. The old man and Dingdong keep each other company, and in order not to restrict Dingdong's freedom, the old man chooses to let Dingdong roam freely.
Even though Dingdong could roam freely, it didn't abandon the elderly woman. It would only play with the nearby dogs not far from home and never leave her sight.
And so Dingdong formed its own circle, making friends with everyone, including a stray dog it had never seen before.
The stray dog appeared near the old man's house at some point and became good friends with Dingdong. The stray dog was almost never seen leaving Dingdong's side, so the old man also fed the stray dog together.
Not long after, Dingdong gave birth to a cub one night and suddenly disappeared. When they found her, she was lying by the river.
As the old man sadly tried to approach Dingdong, a stray dog suddenly barked fiercely at him. The closer he got, the fiercer the dog became, and fearing an attack, the old man had no choice but to back away.
During this time, the old man also tried to find the owner of the stray dog, but no one recognized it.
Finally, the old man tried to give the stray dog some food, but the stray dog still ignored him and refused to eat or drink. The old man and the stray dog endured this for two weeks.
Finally, they had no choice but to ask for help. The volunteers asked the old man about the stray dog's situation and learned that it had come here suddenly and had become Dingdong's husband.
The two dogs mated and had a puppy, but the puppy was already dead when the old man found it. He buried it not far away.
So he went to look for Dingdong. When he saw Dingdong lying motionless by the river, the old man knew that it was probably doomed. No matter how he called Dingdong's name, it did not get up again.
The old man gradually came to terms with it. He began to worry about the health of the stray dog guarding Dingdong. If it didn't eat or drink, it definitely wouldn't be able to hold on.
When the cameraman tried to approach the riverbank, the stray dog not only barked warily but also chased after him.
After watching the people being chased away, the stray dog returned to Dingdong's body and kept licking it, nudging it with its paws, as if it believed Dingdong would wake up again.
It started raining at the time, and the stray dog, worried that Dingdong would get wet, carried Dingdong's body under some tree branches.
The stray dog's behavior saddened everyone present. The volunteers knew they could no longer let it continue guarding Dingdong's body, so they began a rescue operation.
By using a large net to separate the stray dogs, the old man was finally able to see Dingdong up close.
Its body was already decomposed, and the hospital was processing Dingdong's body, packing it up and taking it away.
Meanwhile, the stray dogs that were seen on the side started barking wildly. After successfully taking Dingdong away, they began to catch the stray dogs.
During the capture, the stray dog began to charge and run wildly, but it was no match for the strength of the group, and they successfully caught it. It and Dingdong were then taken to the veterinary hospital for examination.
Dingdong died from a severe infection after giving birth, which threatened her life. Her body would have decomposed 3 or 4 days after her death, but the stray dog kept licking her body.
Therefore, its body will decompose much more slowly. The stray dog was not seriously injured, and its emotions gradually stabilized under the old man's comforting words. The old man also said that he would take it back and raise it.
He saw in the stray dog the spirit of unwavering loyalty to its companions and believed it would be a grateful dog.
