During the Spring Festival, a pet owner in China responded to the call to spend the New Year locally, so he did not go home to reunite with his family and volunteered to work a shift. He felt that spending the New Year alone was not very interesting, so on New Year's Eve, he ate a bowl of instant noodles and went to bed early.
It was mid-February. One evening, the pet owner was cooking noodles at home when, through the kitchen window, they noticed a small stray dog lying outside. There was no one around, and the dog was staring blankly into the darkness, seemingly lost in thought.
Seeing that the dog was also all alone, the owner was filled with emotion, thinking, "We're both in the same boat!" The owner then shared some of their noodles with the stray dog, which ate them very happily.
A person spending the Chinese New Year alone gave some noodles to a stray dog. It was just a small incident, so the owner didn't pay any attention to it.
But to the owner's surprise, the dog showed up at the door the next day. That night, the owner was resting at home when there was a knock on the door, but the sound was very faint and accompanied by whimpering.
The pet owner opened the door in confusion and found that it was the stray dog she had fed the night before. When the dog saw the owner open the door, it immediately stuck its head into the house, then spat something out of its mouth, took a few steps back, and sat quietly outside the door watching the owner.
This scene completely baffled the pet owner. She looked down at what the dog had brought and discovered it was a fish tail!
In other words, the stray dog remembered her after eating her noodles last night. Today, when the dog went out to look for food, it found a fish tail and quickly brought it back to its owner.
Shocked, the owner refused the dog's offer, but the dog whimpered and howled, seemingly urging the owner not to be polite and to eat.
Dog: Eat up, I just found this, don't be shy.
The owner didn't eat it afterward. Instead, they placed a bowl at the front door, put the fish tail inside, and told the dog to eat it. When the dog saw that the owner wasn't eating it, it left.
The next day, the stray dog brought its owner a sausage. It seemed that someone had given it to it out of pity when it was a stray, but it hadn't eaten it and had brought it to its owner instead.
It was just a bowl of noodles, but this stray dog chose to repay the owner with fish. The owner didn't eat the fish, so the dog brought back a sausage.
It was just a stray dog. Every piece of food it received was a matter of life and death for it. The fish tail and sausage were insignificant to its owner, but they were life-saving for this stray dog. Yet, it still chose to repay the kindness without hesitation.
This is the reality of stray dogs. They may be dirty and unsightly, but do they want to be dirty and unsightly? No! Even if they work their hardest all day, they still can't get enough to eat, so they don't have the energy to care about being dirty or unsightly!
Even when they are starving, they still know how to repay kindness and give up the food that is equivalent to life for them to humans.
So stray dogs aren't as bad as people imagine. Their dirtiness and ugliness are just symptoms, a result of their unavoidable plight in harsh living conditions. Therefore, we hope everyone can respect stray dogs. You may not like them, but please don't hurt them!
