Six years ago, a girl named "Xiao Rong" was at an event where animal protection workers were advocating for the sterilization of stray dogs. There were staff members everywhere capturing stray dogs.

When Xiao Rong saw this scene, she was terrified. She didn't know what sterilization was, but she felt sorry for the stray dogs that had been captured and were struggling and crying.

The stray dogs that were caught ranged in age from over ten years old to as young as two or three months old. One of the little black dogs was only three months old. It was the first time the young dog had experienced such a large-scale capture. Facing a group of staff members who surrounded it with nets, it huddled in a corner, its body trembling slightly, its eyes revealing despair. Xiao Rong happened to witness that scene.

Xiao Rong watched as the little black dog was put into an iron cage. She kept asking the staff, "Why are such small dogs being taken away?" and "What will happen to them if they are taken away?" Her concerns made the staff stop and patiently explain to Xiao Rong.

"Capturing them back is for their own good, and it's also a way to clean up stray dogs in the city. If left unchecked, they will continue to multiply, and without shelter and care, they will likely become aggressive, posing a threat to humans."

Stray dogs that are brought back to their homes face two possible fates: the lucky ones will be adopted, while the unlucky ones will be euthanized.

However, their living conditions in the shelter were very poor at the time. If puppies were caught, most of them would get sick, and some would even die.

After learning the reason, Xiao Rong became even more worried about the little black dog, because, as the staff said, it was still a puppy.

Despite her concerns about the little black dog's survival, Xiao Rong had no choice but to accept the situation, as she was only 14 years old at the time and not of legal age to raise a dog on her own.

When it was time to leave, Xiao Rong reluctantly returned home. She told her family about it, and seeing Xiao Rong's gloomy expression, her family said, "You can go and see it."

With her family's support, Xiao Rong entered the shelter the next day. Among the many stray dogs, she found the small, black dog with black fur. Xiao Rong reached out her hand and gently stroked it. The dog seemed to need someone to rely on, rubbing against Xiao Rong's hand.

Looking at its little appearance, Xiao Rong called it "Zizai". The little black dog liked the name Zizai very much, and it would get especially excited whenever Xiao Rong called it.

Not long after Zizai entered the shelter, during a visit, it was learned that Zizai had fallen ill. Its physical condition was getting worse and worse, and it had no appetite. It just lay in the cold cage.

Zizai wasn't interested in anything until Xiaorong arrived, at which point it would move its body slightly. The staff told Xiaorong that Zizai's condition probably wouldn't last until it was time to be spayed.

Upon hearing the news, Xiao Rong burst into tears, repeatedly saying that she didn't want Zizai to leave.

She pleaded with the staff to take good care of Zizai and keep it alive. Although she was only 14 years old, she said that if Zizai survived, she would come and take it home when she turned 20.

Touched by Xiao Rong's actions, the staff took on the responsibility of caring for Zi Zai, and Zi Zai seemed to sense Xiao Rong's desire and promise to live, and began to improve.

Now, Zizai is 6 years old. It has grown into a very handsome and majestic dog. It was playing mischievously in the yard when it saw a girl walking towards it in the distance. It excitedly pounced on her.

That's right, this girl is Xiao Rong. Today, she came with a promise to officially adopt Zizai.

A seemingly insignificant remark unexpectedly stayed with a girl for six years. When the time came, she fulfilled her promise to Zizai. This affection and sense of responsibility deeply moved many people.

When Zizai arrived in the new environment, it didn't feel restrained at all. Instead, it went around cuddling and begging for pets from the family. Xiao Rong said, "It's been worth it to stick with it for so many years. Although it sometimes makes a mess at home, I have never regretted bringing it home. In my heart, it will always be the most handsome."

What seems like an insignificant matter reveals a profound responsibility. Xiao Rong's six years of dedication to taking responsibility for a life is enough to show that Zizai will only be happier in the future.
