The European Robin (scientific name: *Erithacus rubecula*), also known as the robin, is a small passerine bird. Formerly classified in the subfamily Turdinae, it is now classified in the family Muscicapidae. It is common in Europe, ranging from Siberia to Algeria, and as far as the Azores and Madeira Islands in the Atlantic Ocean, as well as the Caucasus Mountains in the southeast.
