Before we had pets, we always envied how smart and cute other people's pets were. But after we got pets, we found that many aspects were completely different from what we had imagined.
This Chihuahua named "Grace" completely shattered its owner's expectations of owning a pet. Although it didn't become the pet its owner had envisioned, it allowed the owner to experience the unique joys of pet ownership.
Scott initially decided to get a pet so it could guard his house. Actually, that's not a high demand, since most dogs can guard the house, so it's hardly a requirement.
Although Chihuahuas are small dogs, their guarding abilities are in no way inferior to those of dogs larger than themselves.
But Scott never expected that his simplest request would not be reflected in Gracie.
Scott was not Gracie's first owner. Before they met, she lived with another family for a while, but was sent to a shelter by her former owner because she was too lazy.
After arriving at the shelter, Gracie's lazy personality not only did not change, but she became the most "laid-back" dog in the shelter.
The shelter has many dogs waiting to be adopted. Some are ordinary stray dogs, while others, like Gracie, were abandoned by their owners.
Whenever someone comes, these dogs waiting to be adopted will lie on their cages and bark loudly, trying to get the attention of potential adopters.
Gracie is the only one who sleeps all day long; otherwise, she just lies on her stomach.
As for adopters outside, Gracie has no interest whatsoever. She has plenty to eat and drink every day and doesn't need to please anyone. This kind of life is very much in line with her extremely lazy personality.
Gracie didn't know that the shelter wasn't the wonderful place she imagined. If she knew that if no one adopted her for a long time, she would really sleep forever (euthanasia), she probably wouldn't be so calm!
