"You did a great job on this mission, here's a chicken leg as a reward." Recently, at a police dog training base in Qujing City, Yunnan Province, the handler happily patted the head of police dog "TuTu." "TuTu," a one-year-old police dog, had just graduated from a police dog skills training course and successfully completed its first mission—a search and rescue operation in the deep mountains.

In the early hours of February 5th, the Longtan Police Station of Xuanwei City Public Security Bureau in Qujing City received a report from Ms. Gu, stating that her father had left home on the afternoon of February 4th and had not returned since, and the family had searched for him for half a day without success. At the time of receiving the report, the temperature in the Longtan area was as low as 0℃, and Ms. Gu's home was surrounded by mountains and forests; if the elderly man was not found in time, the consequences would be unimaginable.

The police immediately reported the situation and mobilized village officials and residents from the surrounding area to conduct a search. However, after more than 60 people searched until 4 a.m., the elderly man was still nowhere to be found. In this urgent situation, the police then used a drone to assist in the search and mobilized even more people to participate, but still found no clues.

Seeing that the elderly woman had been missing for a long time, the Xuanwei Municipal Public Security Bureau immediately reported the situation. The Criminal Investigation Detachment of the Municipal Bureau then dispatched police dogs "TuTu" and "FeiXu" to participate in the search.

At the elderly man's home, after thoroughly sensing the scent source, the two police dogs, led by their handlers, split into two groups and searched along mountain paths in sections of the forest where the man might be. The mountains were shrouded in mist, and the dense undergrowth posed a significant obstacle to the rescue.

Police dogs and their handlers searched through the grass and woods, leaving no clue unchecked. After nearly five hours of searching, police dog "TuTu" suddenly barked, alerting its handler and leading them to the elderly man, Mr. Gu, whose face was covered in bruises. At this point, Mr. Gu had been missing for 48 hours. Fortunately, the search and rescue were timely, and Mr. Gu is now out of danger.

The handler explained that "TuTu," the police dog, had just graduated from a police dog skills training course and was an "outstanding student." Well done, TuTu, to have earned merit right after graduation!
