Golden Retrievers are known for their gentle temperament, and they are often the first choice for many pet owners. In the family, they play the role of a sunny, cheerful dog, bringing endless joy to every household. A friend of mine is a big fan of Golden Retrievers. Their golden fur, droopy ears, and gentle, obedient, and intelligent nature deeply attracted him. After graduating from university, on his friend's recommendation, he bought two Golden Retrievers, one male and one female. Since he had just graduated and was busy with work, he wanted to keep the Golden Retrievers company during the day so they wouldn't feel lonely at home alone.
As the days went by, the little golden retrievers have grown into mothers and fathers. The sudden addition of so many golden retriever puppies to the family was truly a joy. However, as the puppies grew, a very real problem arose. For our friends with limited income, two golden retrievers were already the limit. If we were to raise more, not only would we not be able to take care of them, but the limited space would also prevent us from accommodating so many dogs. So, when the puppies were old enough to eat independently, we decided to give them to other dog lovers, hoping they could thrive in their care.
My friend was holding a puppy nestled against a wall, planning to find it a good home and a good dog soon. But the mother and father dogs seemed to know something; they were on either side of their owner. The father dog's head drooped, his face filled with sadness, as if he were trying to figure out how to keep the puppy. The mother dog, meanwhile, nestled her head against her owner's lap, trying to get as close to her puppy as possible, as if afraid of losing it. She was trying to move her owner with this simple gesture and get the puppy to stay. One of the golden retriever puppies stretched its head towards its mother, seemingly comforting her. The scene was filled with deep maternal love.
To comfort the mother dog, the friend immediately placed the puppy on the mat. The mother dog quickly used her paws to tuck the nearest golden retriever puppy under her body and gently licked it, as if afraid of frightening it.
After calming the puppy down, the golden retriever mother stretched out her paw to try and hide the puppy next to her owner, but the owner noticed and blocked her with his hand. At this moment, the mother dog quickened her pace and reached for the puppy, successfully evading the owner's obstruction.
After much persistence and effort, the mother dog successfully called her puppies to her side. Her eyes were fixed on her owner, as if pleading, "Please don't give them away, keep them, I'll take good care of them." What a touching scene! This is the greatest maternal love between dogs!
