When it comes to the most loyal animals, the first thing that comes to mind is the familiar dog. They will not leave their owners for any reason, even if their owners are penniless, it doesn't matter, once they've chosen their owner, it's for life.
Even so, some people will abandon dogs for various reasons.
An animal rescue worker received a call for help, saying a dog was dying and they hoped he could come and help. When he arrived at the rescue site, he stood there for a long time, his heart filled with heartache.
A yellow dog was huddled next to a red suitcase, its bones protruding all over its body. When it saw someone coming, it didn't move at all, so weak that it didn't even have the strength to open its eyes.
Its body twitched occasionally; if you didn't see it shaking, you probably wouldn't even know it was still alive.
The caller said he found it by accident, and it seemed to have been there for a long time. He tried to feed it, but it wouldn't come over, so he had no choice but to ask for help.
Looking at the suitcase next to it, the workers could roughly guess that its original owner had used that suitcase to bring it here and then abandoned it.
The poor dog, unaware that its owner had abandoned it, remained guarding the box its owner had left behind, hoping its owner would return to take it back: "When will you come back for me?"
The worker didn't care whether the dog wanted to go with him or not; he simply picked it up and took it to the hospital for treatment. By then, the dog had no strength left to resist and could not even walk for more than a few seconds.
After the doctor's examination, everyone was heartbroken when they heard the diagnosis. It was estimated to be only two years old, but weighed only 26 pounds, completely disproportionate to its size. Furthermore, they discovered that its stomach contained many small stones and weeds, which had caused intestinal problems.
It's likely that when it was extremely hungry, it didn't even think about leaving the suitcase. Otherwise, even a stray dog could easily find a place to live by eating stones and grass by rummaging through a trash can.
What's even more heartbreaking is that the dog has obvious burns on its body and its tail is broken. I really don't know what kind of torture its former owner inflicted on it.
The doctor said he didn't know if it could be cured, but fortunately, it survived thanks to its perseverance.
Later, the staff found it a suitable adopter. Now it has a new family and trusts its owner very much.
I hope all stray animals can have a good ending and be given a home.
