If unpleasant odors frequently emanate from your living environment, it can cause a lot of annoyance, especially during the summer when people are more sensitive to smells.
Police officers received requests for help from residents in a certain area who said they always smelled a pungent, rotten odor when they passed by the roadside, or that they would smell the same odor from time to time at home.
Upon receiving this information, the patrol officers instinctively became more vigilant and quickly went to visit and investigate. Finally, based on a resident's report, they learned that the unpleasant smell actually came from a dog.
The dog frequents that area, but spends most of its time near an abandoned shipping container.
Its fur was long and dirty, and you could smell its stench from afar. The residents hoped that the patrol officers could take it away.
So the patrol officers first went to check the abandoned container that the residents had mentioned. They could smell a foul odor even before they got close, but strangely, they didn't find any dogs after circling the container.
When the patrol officers checked under the container, they found a large gap at the bottom, so they lay down to take a look.
Startled by the barking, the patrol officer used his flashlight to locate a long-haired dog.
Just as the residents described, it was dirty and smelly, and very wary, barking fiercely at the patrolman, trying to warn him not to come near.
Therefore, the patrol officers did not dare to act rashly. Just as they were about to stop and go back to discuss how to rescue the dog, they heard the whimpering of the puppy. Then, three puppies crawled out from beside the dog.
It was then discovered that there was not only the big dog in the container, but also its three puppies. While the dog was feeding the puppies, the patrol officer noticed a festering wound on its neck and a leather strap around its neck.
Having gathered some information about the dog, the patrol officers ultimately requested assistance from an animal rescue team and a veterinarian to rescue the dog.
The next day, everyone rushed to the place and brought food. After luring them out, they checked the situation and placed the food in front of the container.
Everyone stepped aside and waited. After a while, the dog realized there was no danger.
It carefully climbed out, quickly ate two bites, and then crawled back under the container, showing that it was very vigilant.
The puppies, however, were not as wary as their mother. They swarmed towards the food as if they had been starving for a long time.
Based on this observation, the veterinarian determined that the puppies all appeared to be in good condition, except for the mother dog, whose neck wound looked quite serious.
The next step was to rescue them. They blocked off the rest of the containers, leaving only one side open.
Then they surrounded the area with a large net and tried to lure them with food. They waited there all day, but the dogs never came out again.
Finally, they had no choice but to use sticks to chase them away. The first dog caught was the mother dog, but the rescuers grabbed her leg and pulled her out.
Once separated from their mother, the puppies began to feel uneasy, and eventually, under some kind of enticement, they were all captured.
They were then taken to the hospital, where the vet shaved the mother dog's fur, and the leash around her neck was a leash.
It is speculated that the buckle was left behind when the animal was lost or abandoned when it was very young.
As it grew older, the dog couldn't remove the leash, which caused a wound on its neck. The constant rubbing caused the wound to ooze pus and emit a foul odor.
Now the mother dog and her puppies have been settled. The mother dog, who was initially very scared, has gradually come to trust humans and is no longer so resistant to them.
Hopefully, they will find loving owners and no longer have to live a life of wandering.
