Emotions are not limited by species; we often see or hear stories of animals helping each other.
Two cats and dogs have lived together in Canada for eight years. Their union is not surprising at all, but once you learn their story, you'll realize they are the most wonderful couple! Coco, the dog, was born blind; she couldn't see this beautiful world from birth. As a puppy, she was taken in by her original owner, who already had a dog named Penny. Her original owner didn't know Coco was blind, so when they saw her, they would always cautiously touch things around the house.
Sometimes she would fall to the ground, which her original owner mistakenly thought was a problem with Coco's legs.
The kitten is feeding the dog in a comfortable spot.
After spending a long time together, the original owner discovered that Coco had a problem with her eyes, and a veterinary examination eventually confirmed that the dog was blind.
From then on, the original owner no longer took such good care of Coco. Coco often felt scared and uneasy, and would bark randomly in the house. As a result, the original owner kicked her out to live alone in the yard.
Penny, who lived in the room, saw Coco unconscious and rushed to the door and into the yard to stay with her, wiping her body with her head in an attempt to comfort her.
They could only distinguish cocoa products by hearing and smell, and they quickly remembered Penny's scent.
Being with Penny reduces my anxiety, and I'm always with Penny.
The cat and dog didn't want to be separated.
So, after eight years, they were suddenly abandoned by their original owners. When the shelter took Coco and Penny in, they huddled together tightly, as if they depended on each other.
After the adoption information was published, many people expressed their desire to adopt healthy Penny individually, and soon adoptive parents came to take Penny away.
When the volunteers pulled Penny out of the cage, she suddenly realized something, and her reaction was very intense; she struggled and cried out.
The sound of Coco being placed in the cage made it anxiously stand up. It fumbled around in the unfamiliar environment, unable to sense Penny's presence. It began to pace anxiously, then barked wildly towards the outside of the cage once more.
Penny's struggle and Coco's actions shocked everyone present.
Nobody wants to adopt the dog.
They tried to put Penny back in the cage, but Penny went up and rubbed the cocoa powder. The cocoa powder immediately stopped making noise and just made whimpering sounds, as if it were very aggrieved.
At this point, everyone knew they were an inseparable couple, so they had to refuse anyone who wanted to adopt Penny and instead started looking for someone willing to adopt her together.
Because of Coco, the adoption was blocked. We even considered forcibly separating them, but seeing how reluctant they were to part, we had to give up the idea.
Two months ago, Coco and Penny lived in the shelter until the last caretaker came to adopt them.
The owners said they were very moved after hearing their story, so they wanted to give them a warm home.
Remove the dog's eyes.
After the owner took Coco and Penny in, she took them for a check-up and learned that Coco's eyes had deteriorated and that her eyeballs had to be removed. She then underwent surgery.
After recovering, Coco and Penny lived in the garden. The owner gave them plenty of care, and Coco became more cheerful, especially enjoying running around on the grass.
The owner said they wouldn't separate them because Penny was not only Coco's eyes, but also Coco's emotional support.
