The pet industry is booming, and the variety of pets has increased, with more cat breeds being kept than before. Previously, most people kept domestic shorthair cats, but now, some foreign breeds have also entered people's lives. However, compared to other breeds, domestic shorthair cats tend to have stronger constitutions, not only being more disease-resistant but sometimes even quite resistant to medications.
Just like this pet owner's cat, it's a mixed-breed cat. Even with anesthesia, the vet couldn't perform the surgery on it during its neutering procedure. And this cat wasn't bought by the owner; it was a stray they found in their yard. One day, as the owner was about to go out, they saw a tiny, skinny kitten in the yard, and they didn't know how it had gotten in.
The owner loved cats, so when they saw the kitten, they were immediately drawn to it. Seeing how thin the kitten was, they felt sorry for it and went home to get some food before leaving. From then on, the kitten stayed in the yard, and the owner fed it every day. After a while, the owner decided to adopt the kitten.
With the owner's care, the cat gradually gained some weight. However, perhaps because cats are naturally thin, even when fed well, it remained a normal-looking, lean cat with a pointed face. Recently, the owner decided it was time for the cat to be spayed/neutered, worried that it might run around during heat and for its health, so they took it to the neutering clinic.
To ensure a successful and safe surgery, the pet owner spent a long time choosing a reliable hospital before taking their cat there. After examining the cat, the veterinarian said the surgery was safe, and the owner waited at the hospital for the operation. However, to their surprise, shortly after the veterinarian took the cat away, they saw their cat crawling out of the operating room.
The cat was crawling all over the hospital floor, refusing to be touched, and several veterinarians were following behind, carrying cloths to prevent the cat from being scratched, trying to take it back. The owner was very confused, but after finding out what was going on, they learned that the veterinarian had already anesthetized the cat, but the cat was resisting the surgery and was struggling to climb down from the veterinarian's bed, continuing to crawl out until it was crawling in front of the owner.
However, when the vet tried to catch it, the cat started crawling again, resisting fiercely and extremely aggressively. The vet said they dared not give the cat any more anesthesia or sedatives, as they had already done so, and another dose might not wake the cat. Ultimately, the vet had no choice but to give up; they simply couldn't handle this domestic shorthair cat.
Doctor: I give up, I can't do it.
The pet owner was both amused and exasperated. They hadn't expected their cat to be so resistant to surgery and have such a strong resistance to medication. They couldn't just operate on it like that; it would be too painful. So, the owner had no choice but to give in, cancel the surgery, and go home.
It has to be said, this country cat has a really strong personality. I guess it knows what it's going to be like this.
