Have any of you pet owners ever experienced not recognizing your own dog? It's true that dogs don't always recognize you. Some owners have found that if they walk up to their dog's side and don't call its name, the dog might not recognize them. The dog will look around aimlessly for a while, still looking around blankly. But if the owner calls out, the dog will immediately know its owner is there and start wagging its tail and sticking out its tongue—acting cute and adorable.
While these dogs might look similar to outsiders, their owners, who spend every day with them, can't fool them. They can usually recognize their own dog at a glance. However, there's one situation where the owner might genuinely fail to recognize their dog: if the dog has rolled around in a mud puddle. In that case, not only is recognizing it as their own dog difficult, but even identifying it as a dog, or its breed, becomes quite challenging.
For example, this friend took his Corgi out for a walk, and in the blink of an eye, the Corgi disappeared. The owner was frantic, searching everywhere. Then, from afar, he noticed a bronze statue of a dog!
The owner's curiosity was piqued. Why hadn't he seen this statue before? Thinking about it, he started to walk over to take a look, but the closer he got, the more puzzled he became: Why did this bronze dog sculpture look so much like his own dog?
No doubt about it! Absolutely! This is definitely my dog! He's been wandering off somewhere! There's water dripping from under him!!!
From a distance, you can't recognize your dog at all! Did you get tired of the heat and give yourself a mud bath instead?
After all, it was my own dog, so I called out to it and took it back to get a bath...
