As a professional pet blogger, what I find hardest to accept is not that stray cats are starving, but that some stray cats, who are naturally kind and choose to trust humans, are being harmed by humans who take advantage of that trust. To me, this is equivalent to betraying kindness!
I rarely write about things that might upset others, but something that happened recently has forced me to speak out; otherwise, my conscience wouldn't allow it.
A stray cat remains loyal even after its companion has passed away.
In mid-March of this year, a cat owner found two stray cats at the entrance of the garage. The two cats were in a strange state. One cat was lying on the ground without any defense and not moving, while the other cat was guarding its companion and never leaving its side.
The cat guarding its companion had a sorrowful expression on its face. At first, the owner thought the two cats were just playing, but then they noticed something was wrong with the expression on the cat's face. Upon closer inspection, they discovered that the lying cat didn't seem to be breathing. The owner rushed over to check and found that the cat was already stiff.
It appears to be man-made.
The cat owner rushed the two cats to the vet. The examination revealed that the white cat, whose body was stiff, had died, while the cat that had stayed by its companion's side had comminuted fractures in both front limbs. Even more unacceptable was that the dead cat seemed to have fractures in all four of its paws.
Both cats suffered fractures, and the veterinarian deduced that it appeared to be caused by human intervention.
It's so well-behaved.
After being rescued, the surviving white cat touched the hearts of countless netizens, who donated money to ensure it received treatment. Four days later, the veterinary hospital performed surgery on the cat, but a subsequent message from the hospital brought tears to the eyes of many netizens.
"The cat was in excruciating pain after the surgery and needed constant petting to calm down." It was this statement that ignited everyone's concern for the cat.
Good-looking
A month has passed, and the surviving cat is still undergoing rehabilitation at the veterinary hospital because its two front legs were not simply fractured, but rather comminuted fractures.
The severe fracture meant that even after surgery, the cat could not walk like a normal cat. In the words of the veterinarian, it could walk, but its foreleg joints could not bend.
Besides its good temperament, this cat is also very beautiful, so beautiful that everyone loves it. Even when it and its companions are hurt, it remains affectionate and chooses to trust humans.
But it is precisely because it still chooses to believe in humans that I feel even more distressed, an indescribable distress.
If these two cats were indeed injured by humans, I can even imagine that when the person who hurt them called them, they went to them without any suspicion. But this trust in humans resulted in the death of their companion and serious injury to themselves.
If the cat had become wary of humans after being injured, or even kept them at bay, I might have felt better. But this cat, after losing its companion and being injured itself, still chose to trust and even befriend humans. This kindness and trust made me feel ashamed. I even felt that those who hurt them had taken advantage of their trust and betrayed their kindness.
Now that things have come to this, I hope everyone will refrain from insults. I also hope that the cat's trust in humans can touch some people's hearts. I don't expect everyone to treat stray cats kindly and help them, I just hope that the cat's trust will make you refrain from harming them!
Life is tough, you are, I am, and it is too, but don't betray kindness!
