Kind people always offer help when others are in trouble, even if their abilities are limited. Take rescuing stray dogs, for example. Many kind-hearted people, after rescuing one stray dog, go on to rescue many more, far exceeding their own capabilities, yet still tirelessly continuing the same act! Today, I'll tell you a story about rescuing a stray dog. It happened in Xinjiang. Two weeks ago, a young man was driving to a ski resort in Xinjiang when he entered an unnamed alleyway and suddenly spotted a small dog in the snow! The dog was terrified of the approaching car and ran away before the man could even get out!

Since there were no houses around that unnamed road, the dog ran further and further away, and in this snowy place, it would be difficult for it to survive! The man didn't think much of it; his first instinct was to rescue the dog, so he immediately got out of the car and chased after it. Fortunately, there was nothing to obstruct its path, and the man watched the dog run until it finally got tired and stopped, giving the man a chance to approach and check on it. The puppy didn't look very big; how did it become a stray? The temperature was quite low, and the man wanted to get it back to his place as soon as possible. After several attempts, he finally caught it and put it in his car to go home. However, the puppy was clearly very scared and hid away after arriving home, refusing to come out or even drink water. The man didn't force it; he let the dog get used to its surroundings first, and then went to a pet store to buy a dog bowl and dog food. The next day, the dog was a little bolder and dared to crawl out from under the bed. The man then fed it dog food one kibble at a time, using this method to gain its trust. This method is quite effective. The dog gradually stopped being afraid, and after a few days, it could run around the house boldly and nimbly!

The boy took it to a pet store, where it seemed fine. The vet recommended deworming before vaccination. However, the day after giving it the deworming medication, something seemed wrong. It was weak, unresponsive, and had diarrhea. He immediately took the dog back to the vet, where it was diagnosed with parvovirus! Anyone who has owned a dog knows how serious this disease is. The vet said the dog needed hospitalization and there was no guarantee of a full recovery; the survival rate was only about 40%.

The young man knew his dog was very timid, and he was worried that hospitalization would frighten it further, so he decided against it and took it home. He then researched treatments online and bought medication for the dog. The first week was the most difficult, requiring the dog to fast and not drink water. The young man often woke up in the middle of the night to check on the dog, fearing it might not be able to cope the next day. Fortunately, the dog was quite resilient. Although uncomfortable, it remained well-behaved and, despite losing weight, didn't become overly agitated. Once the dog's condition stabilized, the young man started feeding it a little after a week and took it for walks to get some exercise.

After the holiday, the young man drove over 3,000 kilometers from Xinjiang back to his hometown of Zhangjiajie in Hunan. Due to work commitments, he didn't take the puppy to his workplace and left it at his hometown. However, his mother treated the puppy very well; after a few days, the puppy became attached to her and didn't care about the young man anymore! Currently, it has fully recovered and is healthy. This stray dog has traveled across most of China and finally found its forever home! Thank you to the kind young man for rescuing it; we hope the puppy grows up healthy and happy in its new home!
