Every dog owner understands how much their pet loves them. People often say, "A dog's world revolves around you." Indeed, dogs are the only true affection we can buy with money. Unwavering devotion, even to the point of death. This is what dogs teach us throughout their lives—a profound and admirable lesson. Here's a little poodle, its pitiful eyes and adorable waiting making one angry: how can such a cute little creature be left here unclaimed?
After chatting with the shop owner, I learned that this dog had been there for a while, waiting every day with those longing eyes for the door to open so it could see its beloved owner. It waited and waited, hoping and hoping, and even the shop owner felt sorry for the little guy. It barely ate or drank, its only thought was to go home. Like an abandoned baby, no matter how well others treated it, its heart still longed to go home, to its owner with whom it spent every day. I'd heard before that if a strange dog interacts with you, even if it likes you a lot and is very affectionate, it will still miss its owner and want to go home. It's just that some extroverted dogs will become friendly with strangers, while introverted ones are very defensive and can't be approached even when put in a cage. Thinking about this, I couldn't help but feel a little sad…
The shopkeeper continued, explaining that the dog was like this because its owner had cancer and had left it there, never to be picked up again. It wasn't that they abandoned it, but that it would never come back… Hearing this, I couldn't help but feel a lump in my throat. Perhaps the dog sensed something, or perhaps it was just innocently continuing to wait for the person it most wanted to see. Two years had passed in the blink of an eye. It seemed to have gotten used to life there, but its watery eyes didn't lie; they blinked as if pleading for someone to help it find its owner.
Just then, my dog came out after his bath, and I picked out a leash for him. Suddenly, he turned around and saw a pair of envious and lonely eyes staring at us. Perhaps he was thinking of his loving owner. He used to be that beloved little darling, cherished and pampered. Even though life here was comfortable, when people talked about him, he would still sit quietly and listen, as if trying to glean information about his owner. But the more he listened, the sadder he became. Each time, he would sit there quietly for a long time, motionless and silent…
Hearing this story made me incredibly sad. The saddest thing about a dog that loved you with its life is that it couldn't leave you behind, spending its remaining years waiting with so much expectation and sorrow, constantly thinking of you, endlessly yearning. Nothing and no one could make it happy, or even temporarily forget you. Yes, it never forgot everything about its owner. It remembered its owner's voice, scent, understood its habits and moods. It always made its presence felt while loving you sweetly and obediently, just like you pampered it, giving you everything you had.
As we were heading home, I couldn't help but take one last look at this little cutie. I truly wish it a life free from sadness, filled with strength and happiness. The shop owner is also a dog owner, a true dog lover, and will undoubtedly cherish you even more. Perhaps with time, you'll gradually recover. Hang in there, little one. You will continue to be loved by kind people, just like your owner.
Here's my wish that all pets in the world can be happy and joyful, and that even those with reasons beyond their control can be treated with kindness and cherished. May these little angels be happier than any dog...
