On the afternoon of the accident, rain fell from the sky like beads from a broken string. The signs above the highway indicated a reduced speed limit of 50 miles per hour, and all vehicles were slowing down. Vehicles on the M25 were gradually reducing their speed, carefully navigating the slippery surface.

Hailee Scofield, a 28-year-old pet owner, was also driving in this kind of weather. In her car, besides herself, was her beloved dog Mickey, a lively and adorable Cocker Spaniel.

Hailey works at a school farm, and her Cocker Spaniel Mickey often accompanies her to work. However, while Hailey is driving at 70 miles per hour on the M25 highway, a sudden car accident occurs.

At that moment, Hailey suddenly heard a loud horn blare, followed by the horrific collision. She described it as, "It was terrifying. I'm not an easily excitable person, but I felt the situation was very bad."

Her Mercedes C180 collided with a van, instantly crushing the vehicle and severely damaging the trunk, shattering the rear window in the impact. However, in this critical moment, a simple item—a £500 TransK9 dog crate—"saved" Mickey's life.

After the accident, her first thought was of Mickey. When Hailey climbed out of the car and saw that her vehicle was completely wrecked, her heart sank. However, when she saw Mickey safe and sound in his cage, she was filled with gratitude and relief. She recalled, "When I saw Mickey in his cage, I felt a relief I had never felt before. I knew that the cage had saved his life."

Hailey's Mercedes' trunk was severely crushed, and the rear window shattered in the accident. However, Mickey miraculously escaped unharmed, thanks to a £500 TransK9 dog crate that Hailey had installed in the trunk beforehand. This crash-tested crate successfully protected Mickey from serious injury.

Hailey sustained minor injuries in the accident, but she was incredibly grateful for the dog crate that saved her life. She said, "I've had this crate for five years, and you never think you'll need it, but I'm so glad I have it." She indicated that without the crate, Mickey might have died in the accident.

This incident has also raised concerns about pet safety. Hailey said, "Many people put their dogs in the trunk, and if there isn't legislation on this, I think there should be. You can buy dog crates depending on the size of your car. They're expensive, but my dog travels with me a lot, so how can you price their safety?"

She hopes that this incident will raise awareness of pet safety and make more pet owners realize that pet safety is more important than anything else.

Police, highway officials, and paramedics arrived quickly at the scene after the accident. Two people were reportedly injured. Hailey also sustained minor injuries but was extremely grateful to the dog crate for saving her life.

This sudden car accident, while frightening for Hailey, also made her deeply aware of the importance of pet safety. She hopes that every pet owner can do what she did: provide a safe environment for their pets so that they can feel the warmth of home even while traveling.
